Three Ivy League soccer players were named NSCAA Scholar All-America selections. Columbia junior Sophie Reiser (Seattle, Wash.) and Dartmouth senior Craig Henderson (Wellington, New Zealand) were recognized by the committee as first team Women's and Men's selections, respectively. Dartmouth junior Myra Sack (Wynnewood, Pa.) earned a second-team nod.

Reiser continues to pile up the accolades after a stellar 2008 campaign. The two-time adidas Northeast Region selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (second team in 2007, first team in 2008) was honored with a first-team All-America selection. The pre-med major's academic achievement comes on the heels of her 2008 Ivy League Player of the Year Award earlier this fall. She holds a 3.58 grade point average and was a dominant force on the pitch all season long, closing the year with career-highs in goals (12) and points (35), while tying her career high in assists (11).

Henderson, the unanimous choice for Ivy Player of the Year, a NSCAA third team All-America and second team selection on Soccer America's MVP team also was honored for his work in the classroom. The senior anthropology major was also named NSCAA Scholar All-America first team and Scholar All-East Region first team selection. Henderson is the only Ivy League Men's player to make the national Scholar-All America squads after sporting a cumulative 3.48 GPA.

Sack, a junior government major, was also named to the Scholar All-East Region first team. The honor comes on the heels of Sack's finest season yet wearing the green and white. She earned All-Ivy first team honors after leading the Big Green in scoring with 11 points coming on three goals and five assists. Sack ran the offense expertly for Dartmouth, starting all 16 games and logging more than 1400 minutes in midfield. Sack has a 3.59 grade point average.

The Scholar All-America selections are invited to be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in St. Louis, Mo., on Saturday, Jan. 17, as part of the 2009 NSCAA Convention.
